Overview

Congo Hope, an outreach of Congo Leadership Initiative, provides necessary services and strategic training for Congolese individuals and organizations in the DRC’s Kasai provinces. Our mission is to fill gaps in service that naturally surface between organizations.

History

Congo Hope originated in 2006 as a set of relief projects focused on DRC’s Kasai provinces. Over the next 10+ years founder Jimmy Shafe formed a diverse partner network and broadened the scope of the program to encompass projects across Congo. In 2016 he formed a new organization called Mission:Hope to house his growing array of community development projects, and in 2019 Mission:Hope aligned with Congo Leadership Initiative and became Congo Hope.

Over the last five years, Congo Hope has focused its resources on strengthening communities by supplying food aid, caring for indigent hospital patients, responding to pandemic needs, enhancing hospital infrastructure, and funding youth microenterprises in Tshikaji, Kananga, Mboi, Lubondai, Bulape, Moma, and more.
